The NYS WIC Program has issued an informational message to advise you that there is a scheduled maintenance beginning at 7 PM on Thursday, October 31st expected to last until 2 AM on Friday, November 1st. This maintenance may result in short, intermittent outages that impact the availability of NYWIC and WIC2GO.

Participants may be unable to use WIC2GO for checking benefits, searching for clinics or stores, scanning items or viewing appointments during this maintenance period.

The NYS WIC Program has issued an informational message to advise you that there is a scheduled maintenance outage from 5am-7am on Wednesday, October 16th. This maintenance may result in short, intermittent outages that impact the availability of NYWIC and WIC2GO.

Participants may be unable to use WIC2GO for checking benefits, searching for clinics or stores, scanning items or viewing appointments during this maintenance period.

WIC2Go Outage Scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 2019 between 7:00-11:59pm

The NYS WIC Program has informed local agencies there will be a brief maintenance outage that will impact the WIC2Go  App on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 between the hours of 7:00-11:59 PM.  The outage should last approximately 5-10 minutes.

Participants WILL be able to shop with benefits that were ISSUED BEFORE the outage.

However, WIC2Go WILL NOT be available to check benefit balances, WIC appointments/notifications, approved foods list, UPC scanner, or clinic/store locator.

NYWIC, WIC2Go, and the connectivity to the EBT Service Provider – Conduent, will not be available.

General Mills Recalls Five Pound Bags of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour

General Mills announced today a voluntary national recall of five-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour with a better if used by date of September 6, 2020. The recall is being issued for the potential presence of E. coli O26 which was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product. This recall is being issued out of an abundance of care as General Mills has not received any direct consumer reports of confirmed illnesses related to this product.
This recall only affects this one date code of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour five-pound bags. All other types of Gold Medal Flour are not affected by this recall.
Consumers are asked to check their pantries and dispose of the product affected by this recall. Consumers who have had to discard products covered by this recall may contact General Mills Consumer Relations at 1-800-230-8103 or visit www.generalmills.com/flour

Guidance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) continues to warn that consumers should refrain from consuming any raw products made with flour. E. coli O26 is killed by heat through baking, frying, sautéing or boiling products made with flour. All surfaces, hands and utensils should be properly cleaned after contact with flour or dough.

Perrigo Issues Voluntary Recall For Parent’s Choice Advantage Infant Formula Milk-Based With Iron

Dublin, Ireland and Allegan, MI – Perrigo Company plc is issuing a voluntary nationwide recall of 35-ounces, 992-gram containers of Parent’s Choice Advantage Infant Formula Milk-Based Powder with Iron. This product, sold exclusively at Walmart, is being recalled because of the potential presence of metal foreign matter in a single lot of the product (C26EVFV). The total number of containers affected by this recall is 23,388.

No adverse events have been reported to date, and the recall is being initiated out of an abundance of caution stemming from a consumer report. No other products or retailers are affect by this recall.

Consumers who may have purchased the product should look for Lot Code C26EVFV with a “use by” date of February 26, 2021, which can be found on the bottom of the package. Any consumers who purchased the product should discontinue use and can visit any Walmart store for a refund.
